OPIE Platform — Acceptable Use Policy
Version: 2026.1
Effective date: 30 June 2026
Last updated: 30 June 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out operational rules for use of the OPIE Platform. It supplements our Website Terms of Use and applies to all visitors, customers, distributors, contractors and staff who access OPIE websites, stores, configurators, portals and related services.
Nothing in this Acceptable Use Policy limits or excludes any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection or other mandatory laws.
This policy is designed to be maintainable as the platform evolves. Operational limits and permitted automation may be updated without revising core Website Terms.
2. Relationship with other policies
This AUP should be read with:
- Website Terms of Use;
- Master Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy;
- Terms of Sale (for purchases);
- Information Security Policy and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy;
- Responsible AI & Human Oversight Policy;
If there is a conflict between this AUP and the Website Terms of Use regarding general access to the platform, the Website Terms of Use prevail unless this AUP provides more specific operational rules, in which case the more specific rule applies to that conduct.
3. Who must comply
You must comply with this AUP if you:
- visit or browse any OPIE brand website;
- use online stores, checkout or quotation tools;
- configure products through OPIE product configurators;
- hold a customer, distributor or staff account;
- use AI-assisted search, knowledge or support features;
- access APIs, webhooks or authenticated platform endpoints;
- download documents, drawings, BIM files or technical resources.
4. General principles
You must use the platform:
- lawfully, honestly and in good faith;
- only for legitimate business, purchasing or information purposes;
- in a manner that does not harm OPIE, other users or third parties;
- in accordance with published policies in the Trust Centre;
- with respect for intellectual property, privacy and security controls.
We may monitor use of the platform to detect abuse, protect services and enforce this policy.
5. Fair use
To help ensure reliable operation of the OPIE Platform for all users, we reserve the right to apply reasonable usage limits to platform features, including AI services, configurators, search, downloads, APIs and customer portals.
We may apply reasonable technical measures to ensure fair access to shared platform resources and prevent excessive consumption that could affect other users.
These measures may include temporary throttling, request prioritisation or other operational controls where necessary to maintain service availability, protect security or prevent abuse.
6. AI services
The OPIE Platform may provide AI-assisted features including product search, knowledge retrieval, configuration guidance, customer support assistance and authorised internal tools.
You must not:
- use AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, deceptive or abusive content;
- attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking or manipulation intended to bypass safety controls or access restricted data;
- use AI outputs to misrepresent OPIE products, specifications, pricing or warranties;
- automate high-volume AI queries to scrape knowledge bases, product catalogues or internal documentation;
- submit personal information of third parties to AI tools without a lawful basis and appropriate authority;
- use AI tools to harvest competitive intelligence through deceptive or automated means;
- reverse engineer or extract underlying models, embeddings or training approaches from platform AI features.
You remain responsible for reviewing AI-generated outputs before relying on them for engineering, commercial, legal, procurement or safety decisions.
Privileged administrative AI services and authorised internal AI tools are restricted to authorised internal users. Attempting to access restricted administrative or staff-only services without authorisation is prohibited.
7. Bots, scraping and automated access
Unauthorised automated access to the platform is prohibited. This includes scripts, crawlers, scrapers, headless browsers and data-mining tools used without our prior written consent.
You must not automatically extract or aggregate:
- product catalogues, pricing, stock or configuration data;
- marketing leads, CRM or distributor records;
- freight quotes, shipping rates or checkout flows;
- knowledge base, help centre or published policy content for republication;
- personal information from forms, accounts or authenticated areas.
Respect robots directives and applicable technical controls. Limited indexing by recognised search engines for public marketing pages is permitted. All other automated collection requires authorisation.
8. APIs and integrations
Public and authenticated platform endpoints may enforce technical controls, network protection measures and abuse prevention mechanisms to protect platform integrity and availability.
You must not:
- circumvent technical controls or abuse-prevention mechanisms;
- hammer endpoints to degrade service for others;
- probe undocumented APIs or internal administrative routes;
- use privileged credentials, tokens or integration secrets outside their intended scope;
- share API keys or integration credentials with unauthorised parties;
- replay, forge or tamper with authentication or session handoff mechanisms used by the OPIE Platform.
Approved integrations with third-party providers must be used in accordance with applicable vendor terms and OPIE security requirements.
9. Authentication and credentials
Account security
- Do not share passwords, OTP codes, magic links or session tokens.
- Do not permit multiple individuals to use a single personal or distributor login.
- Do not sell, transfer or sublicense account access.
- Notify OPIE immediately if you suspect credential compromise.
Credential abuse
You must not:
- attempt credential stuffing, brute force or password spraying;
- use another person's account without permission;
- create accounts with false identity information or disposable abuse addresses for platform manipulation;
- bypass role-based access, pricing visibility or account tier controls.
10. Reverse engineering and intellectual property
Platform software, configurators, 3D assets, pricing logic and databases are protected.
You must not:
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble platform software or client-side applications except where law expressly permits;
- copy or redistribute 3D models, technical assets, textures or viewer components from configurators or download services;
- extract pricing algorithms, discount tiers or distributor rules through systematic automated testing;
- benchmark, profile or systematically evaluate the Platform for the purpose of developing competing products or services without our prior written consent;
- remove copyright, trademark or licensing notices from downloads;
- use OPIE trademarks, logos or product imagery in a way that suggests endorsement without permission.
11. Configurators, quotes and CPQ
Product configurators and quote tools are provided for genuine enquiry and ordering workflows.
You must not:
- submit fraudulent, duplicate or automated quote requests intended to manipulate pricing or inventory;
- tamper with configuration or checkout data to alter prices, discounts or line totals;
- use quotation or store workflows to test exploits or bypass platform validation;
- misrepresent configured products as certified engineering drawings suitable for construction or regulatory approval without OPIE review.
Platform validation applies at quote and checkout. Attempts to circumvent it may result in account termination or restricted functionality.
12. Distributor portal
Distributor accounts provide access to pricing, ordering and commercial tools subject to contractual terms.
Distributors must not:
- share portal access with competitors or unauthorised third parties;
- publish distributor pricing publicly or use it to undercut agreed channel rules;
- scrape distributor catalogues or price lists for non-OPIE commercial purposes;
- use trial or expired pricing access beyond authorised periods;
- create duplicate distributor identities or shell companies to obtain pricing tiers.
13. Customer accounts and store use
Customer accounts and store checkout must be used for legitimate purchases and enquiries.
You must not:
- place fraudulent orders or use stolen payment credentials;
- abuse returns, warranty or chargeback processes;
- provide false delivery addresses to manipulate freight quotes or evade charges;
- harvest other customers' order or account information;
- use the store to test payment or integration vulnerabilities.
14. Bulk downloads and exports
Document, drawing and BIM downloads may require authentication, approval or download authentication mechanisms.
You must not:
- bulk download catalogues, BIM libraries or technical packs for republication or competing catalogues;
- share time-limited download links or export credentials outside authorised recipients;
- automate export requests to harvest product geometry or specifications at scale;
- circumvent download authentication mechanisms on protected content.
15. Security testing and research
Unauthorised security testing, vulnerability scanning or penetration testing against production systems is prohibited.
Responsible security research must follow our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. Do not access data you are not authorised to access, exfiltrate customer information, or degrade live services while testing.
16. Communications and forms
Contact forms, lead capture, distributor applications and support channels must not be used to:
- send spam, unsolicited marketing or bulk automated messages;
- transmit malware, phishing links or harmful attachments;
- harvest personal information from OPIE staff or systems;
- submit false leads or poison CRM data;
- bypass consent or abuse-prevention controls on public routes.
17. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the platform to transmit, store or promote material that:
- is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory;
- infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- contains malware, exploits or instructions for wrongdoing;
- facilitates fraud, credential theft or denial-of-service attacks;
- exposes confidential OPIE or third-party information without authority.
18. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this AUP has been breached, we may (without limitation):
- issue a warning or request remediation;
- temporarily restrict functionality;
- apply technical controls, throttling or traffic filtering;
- suspend or terminate accounts or API access;
- remove content or disable downloads;
- preserve logs and evidence for investigation;
- report unlawful conduct to law enforcement or regulators;
- pursue contractual, civil or criminal remedies where appropriate.
Enforcement actions are proportionate to the risk. We are not obliged to provide prior notice where immediate action is necessary to protect the platform, users or data.
19. Reporting abuse
To report suspected abuse, security concerns or AUP violations, contact OPIE using the details in our Trust Centre or Privacy Policy.
Security vulnerability reports should follow our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. Platform privacy enquiries: privacy@opiegroup.com.au.
20. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP as platform features, integrations and threat patterns evolve. Updated versions will be published in the Trust Centre. Material changes may be communicated on the website where appropriate.
Continued use of the platform after an updated AUP takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, subject to your statutory rights.
